Hydrafacial
Hydrafacial is an effective, non-surgical skin care procedure that's safe, natural, and non-invasive. This facial utilizes innovative technology to improve the health and appearance of your skin.
Hydrafacial treatments can be compared to chemical peels but are painless. Hydrafacial treatments don't use harsh chemicals to peel the skin. Instead, they focus on cleansing and exfoliating. This helps to rejuvenate the skin, giving it a younger, healthier glow.
A licensed dermatologist or certified aesthetician performs the procedure using a wand. The wand simultaneously exfoliates, cleans and removes dead cells from the skin's surface.
There are different kinds of masks (e.g., clay, cactus, cucumber) for different purposes: deep-cleansing, by penetrating the pores; healing acne scars or hyper-pigmentation; brightening, for a gradual illumination of the skin tone. Facial masks also help with anti-aging, acne, crows feet, under eye bags, sagging lids, dark circles, puffiness,[1] and more. Some masks are designed to dry or solidify on the face, almost like plaster; others just remain wet. The perceived effects of a facial mask treatment include revitalizing, healing, or refreshing; they may yield temporary benefits (depending on environmental, dietary, and other skincare factors). There is little to no objective evidence that there are any long-term benefits to the various available facial treatments.[2]
Masks are removed by either rinsing the face with water, wiping off with a damp cloth, or peeling off of the face. Duration for wearing a mask varies with the type of mask, and manufacturer's usage instructions. The time can range from a few minutes to overnight. Those with sensitive skin are advised to first test out the mask on a small portion of the skin, in order to check for any irritations. Some facial masks are not suited to frequent use. A glycolic mask should not be used more frequently than once a month to avoid the risk of burning the skin.
Masks can be found anywhere from drugstores to department stores and can vary in consistency and form. Setting masks include: clay, which is a thicker consistency, and will draw out impurities (and sometimes, natural oils, too) from the pores; a cream, which stays damp to hydrate the skin; sheet-style, in which a paper mask is dampened with liquid to tone and moisturize the skin; and lastly, a hybrid/clay and cream form that includes small beads for removing dead surface skin cells. Non-setting facial masks include warm oil and paraffin wax masks. These different forms are made to suit different skin types (e.g., oily or dry), and different skincare goals or needs (e.g., moisturizing, cleansing, exfoliating). Clay and mud masks suit oily and some "combination" skin types, while cream-based masks tend to suit dry and sensitive skin types. There are also peel-off masks which are great for when you need to remove thin layers of dead skin cells and dirt.[3]

A non-surgical, effective procedure to improve the texture and appearance of your skin is called PRP facial. It can be used to treat scarring from acne and wrinkles. Athletes and others who want to appear younger and improve their self esteem are also attracted to this treatment.

When platelets are injected under the skin, they produce growth factors that speed up healing and collagen creation. Patients are generally satisfied with the results, even though the effects may not last for long.
This treatment has attracted a lot of attention in recent years. It's a novel way to rejuvenate skin and speed up its healing. A medical team member will draw a sample from the patient, and then use the centrifuge to separate red blood cells from platelets. The platelets are then concentrated and made into a plasma with high levels of platelets.
The blood contains high levels growth factors. These proteins can speed up healing. They also contain natural healing properties. This high concentration of growth factors will accelerate the healing process.
For tissue growth, you can also use platelet rich plasma on freshly resurfaced areas. These treatments are noninvasive and safer than more invasive surgical procedures.
PRP facial results take time to show. Patients will notice a difference in their skin texture and color after the treatment. Some patients may feel slight bruising around the injection site. Most patients are able resume normal activities within a day.

We get questions from potential patients who come to our Lenexa office for an aesthetic treatments because they want to look younger. We asked Dr. Margolin about his advice to patients who might have unrealistic expectations about aesthetic treatments. Dr. Margolin said, “I tell potential patients the truth: I am an M.D., not a magician. I understand that it’s natural for people to want to look their best. Everyone wants to look their best, so they feel their best. Aesthetic treatments like BOTOX can temporarily reduce lines and wrinkles but these treatments can’t make them look like they did in college or like their favorite supermodel.”
